For the first year ever we are giving college and
university students the opportunity to ‘meet the company’ at our manufacturing show on Thursday 2nd May at
Wolverhampton Racecourse. Not only are
we opening the doors to over 70 of our member companies and hundreds of
attendees from national and manufacturing engineering companies but we would
are also warmly welcoming students currently enroled on college or university
courses which are interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing and
We have made the event free for students to attend, upon presentation of their NUS or student card and will be receiving them from 1:30pm onwards. Many of our members are already highly active in looking to the next generation to source the next engineering and manufacturing talent to preserve the future of the industry. Several members have taken on both apprentices and graduates with resounding success and reaped the benefits of recruiting fresh talent to breathe new life into their businesses and also of preserving the knowledge and expertise of their existing, often longstanding, workforce.
It is not the first time that we have worked with engineering and manufacturing students. Last April we worked in partnership with Black Country University Technical College (UTC) in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style community-based project. We are fully aware of the talent out there and are looking forward to welcoming students on the day and introducing them to a number of key companies like Jaguar Land Rover in the automotive, aerospace, rail, oil and gas and defence supply chains.
Entry is free for students upon the presentation of an NUS or student card on the day. For further information on the event please call 01902 255033 or take a look at:https://www.madeinthemidlands.com/events
