The latest Made in the Midlands breakfast event was hosted in Rugby, Warwickshire by AW Precision, who are a leading manufacturer of punch and die products and components throughout Europe and the USA.
Business Development Manager of AW Precision, Andy Whitworth said after the event: “These events are absolutely key. People’s time is precious, as I find doing the BD role. It’s nice to get people out of their factories and offices to a bit of a neutral environment to discuss things. I think it has been really good and very worthwhile. It’s nothing like just a coffee morning, it’s a fantastic networking event.”
Our next Breakfast event will take place on 9th March at Torus Technology Group in Telford, West Midlands and we are looking forward to seeing you all there.
Issue 10 of the Made in the Midlands magazine has now arrived at our offices. Please make sure you look out for your copy in the post, as they will be delivered to all of our members. You will see that the Ricoh Arena is featured on the cover and we explain the switch.
The Made in the Midlands Exhibition is back on the 25th May and will be hosted at the Ricoh Arena. This will be our 8th exhibition and it promises to be our biggest event yet with 200 exhibitors and an anticipated 2,000 guests.
We will be sending out exhibitor packs next week, where you will find all of the information that you will need about the event and exhibiting at the show.
We also sent out the capabilities survey recently, which will help us to create the 2017 buyers guide. We would really appreciate if you could fill in the survey correctly, to ensure that your potential customers know exactly how your business can help them.

Photographs of naval parts supplied, patents, letters of recognition to service to industry and signed photos following the Queen Elizabeth II visit in 1957 further endorse Somers’ experience and reputation throughout its 150 years. As it continues to look to the future, Somers is keen to promote heavy engineering with the younger generation, taking on apprentices and investing in further and higher education of its employees.
Earlier this month it hosted a visit from the BBC filming for the children’s education program ‘Absolute Genius’. Mrs Inglis said “As we now look forward to its next 150 years we are confident that Somers will continue to supply forged products of quality, competitively throughout Europe and the world market place.”
In December 2016 QMP, held a Christmas Charity Raffle for the Stroke Association West Midlands and Williams Syndrome. The QMP Directors and Staff kindly gifted to raise money for the chosen charities.
Some of the raffle prizes included, a 49” SONY Bravia TV, Digital Camera, a tablet, Beauty Vouchers and Shopping Vouchers.
Christmas Luxury hampers were made which included items such as Coffee, Food, Chocolate, Wine, Beer and Ale and also Beauty Packs!
Tickets were sold to QMP Staff, Family & friends, with the help of everyone we were able to raise an AMAZING total of £1200.00 and this will be split between both Charities.
Taylors Training are pleased to announce that Rebecca Taylor daughter of MD Alan Taylor passed her Category C+E driving test at DVSA Watnall on Friday 3rd February 2017.
This achievement represents the end of a long journey for most professional drivers, but for Rebecca this has been completed in just a couple of months. Rebecca has proven that she has the determination and drive to excel in the logistics sector and now joins the family of Taylors Transport professional drivers including her brother Mark Taylor who also holds his Category C+E licence and is now a registered AITT trainer and has helped many people gain their forklift, counterbalance and HIAB certificates of competency.
