New machinery, accreditations, staff, products and company

Andel Plastics has started the year with some great new additions to the company. Due to the increase in toolmaking customers, Andel recruited two toolmakers at the end of 2016. Another addition to the Andel Management team is Paul Smith, Technical Manager.

Last but not least Andel Plastics was audited by LQRA for the ISO13485:2003 Medical Device Quality accreditation and are delighted to announce that they have been recommended for accreditation.

Additionally, East Midland Coatings have just received their new, state of the art grit-blasting units supplied by Hodge Clemco Ltd. They have purchased 2 units. Firstly, they have replaced the existing unit with a brand spanking new pressure fed hand blast cabinet. With some parts being cleaned 5 times as quick as previously, the efficiency improvement to EMC has already been enormous.

UKF Stainless Ltd are excited to announce their purchase of a state of the art Lasertube LT5 – offering an even more specialist cutting service.

The addition of the Lasertube LT5 will enhance their current suite of machines and allow UKF to offer customers a ‘one stop shop’ solution for users of stainless steel tube and sections. Diameters from 12mm to 120mm can be accommodated by this new Laser machine – with the added bonus of a clean and spatter free product throughout thanks to its use of a unique accessory protecting the internal diameter of the tube.

Also, QMP have released new Education Lockers offer the same high quality design as the Standard Locker but at a lower height of 1356 H making the Lockers ideal for use in primary school locker rooms or nurseries.

Finally, Carrier Rental Systems (UK) Ltd, a UK subsidiary of US public company United Technologies Corp (UTC), has acquired Watkins Hire Ltd with immediate effect.

Carrier Rental Systems operates a nationwide rental service for high-performance chillers, air handling units, heaters and boilers, and works with related UK businesses SLD Pumps & Power and Toshiba Carrier UK to offer a complete service for industry, buildings and events.

Threeway Trumps Brexit and focuses on UK manufacturing

Whilst the business and political elite come to terms with a year of unpredictable results and instability Threeway Pressings celebrated a successful year of positive change.

They have greatly improved the quantity and quality of our social media over the last 12 months and the brands now have more positive presence in their respective marketplaces.

This will be boosted again next year with Paterson exhibiting at ‘THE PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW’ at the NEC in March 2017 and the Gardening Brands, Bullbarrow, Spyrabase and Radius, once again securing a stand at ‘BBC GARDENERS WORLD’ at the NEC in June 2017.

New branding and new improved mobile friendly websites were an aim of the Threeway group this year. We have started with Paterson and given a traditional well-known brand a 21st century facelift without losing its identity. The new logo will now be the starting point of the new website which will be completed prior to the show and will include many of the features required for a product distributed worldwide but will still keep its customer service focus.

Patrons celebrate their successes

Jonathan Lee Design Services (JLDS) is celebrating after a record year in 2016, and has kick-started 2017 with a six-month programme to model a new vehicle for this year’s prestigious Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Nick Jones, director at Jonathan Lee Design Services, says: “We’ve worked on a number of prestigious projects in the past year and have seen a substantial growth in demand for our services and, in turn, our business has grown too - more than trebling in size in the past 12 months.

Furthermore, FBC Manby Bowdler, which has regional offices in Wolverhampton and Shropshire, has been given the coveted 2-star rating from the employee engagement firm Best Companies, which labels it as ‘outstanding’. It is the third year that FBC Manby Bowdler has featured in the list – in 2015 and 2016 it held 1-star accreditation following two years of being ‘one to watch’.
